Growing up in a large Midwestern Family I was always fascinated by human behavior, how each individual in my family responded and adapted differently in the same environment. At Lake Forest College I studied Politics and English, but could not escape my interest in how a person chose their path to grow, or not to grow.
After working in law as a paralegal for several years, then in health and weight loss, I decided to pursue in more depth my interest in understanding human behavior I graduated from Loyola University with a Masters in Social Work in 1994. I have experiential understanding of making a big career change, and what it takes to embark on a different path even after one has been set.
In a large agency in Chicago I worked in foster care and adoption. In this system I assisted many families struggling through the challenges of parenting, creating a family through adoption and navigating extreme difficulty with limited resources. Beginning in 1999 I have worked in private practice where I have collaborated with hundreds of individuals and couples who have achieved their goals. I have a tremendous respect for each person who decides to invest in the challenging process of change, and I am honored to be a part of it.
